INITIAL MEETING

Whether you are commissioning a single piece of furniture or a larger project such as a wardrobe or kitchen the most important part of my job is to listen to the client and understand what they want. This all starts with an initial meeting to discuss the project and to establish a budget, timescale and other trades needed for the project. This meeting would generally take place in the client’s home where we would agree on a style or detail to suit your home and measure the space for the commissioned piece.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

From our first meeting, we will start to develop some design ideas as well as suggestions on materials. These ideas will be presented in the form of sketches, computer drawings and a display of samples including timber choice, fabrics and ironmongery.

FINAL MEETING

The final meeting is an opportunity to review initial designs and discuss costings. This would be a great time to come and visit the workshop and see at first hand what we make. By the end of this meeting, good progress will have been made towards establishing a final design. When everything is approved and agreed upon in this meeting a deposit is taken to confirm a place in our workshop schedule.

MANUFACTURING THE PROJECT

With the design and materials approved the manufacturing can start. How long this takes will depend on the size and complexity of the project and this would have been agreed in previous meetings. We will keep you informed at every step of the making process and we always welcome clients who would like to visit the workshop to see their furniture being made.

DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION

We always prefer to install our own furniture. Because we crafted it by our own fair hands we would like to continue with the same care and attention as we did from the beginning since we know and understand the job better than anyone else. We will liaise with you the client and other trades on site and deal with any issues that arise whilst fitting.
